Smith Cup 2025

Our under 15 team took part in the Smith Cup competition on bank holiday Monday last. This is our second year to field a team in this competition which is a fixture on the hockey community’s calender each year, with June Smith, a stalwart of Connacht Hockey for many decades, presenting her cup each year. Our girls put in solid performances, drawing with Greenfields B and Kinvara, losing one nil to Galway after a late goal and beating Yeats County, Sligo one nil in their final game. This left Renmore second in their group which is a brilliant result for a very dedicated group of players. With all but three players from this team underage for the competition again next year the future is very bright for our next generation of hockey stars!
