A Historic Day for RHC
Our u15 and u14 teams and their coaches had a brilliant morning in Dangan today. Our u15 team made history in representing Renmore Hockey Club for the first time ever in the prestigious Smith Cup, a fixture on the Connacht Hockey calender for generations. Our young team, captained by Molly Mahon, did very well in their group drawing games with Athlone and Galway 2 and being beaten by a very strong and experienced Greenfields 1st team who went on to compete in the cup final Vs Galway losing out in the death of extra time. A massive thank you to Ann Dempsey and Galway Hockey Club for hosting the competition. The standard of hockey played was fantastic and we can dream big for the coming years given that our entire team is underage again next year.
Our u14 team, captained by Astrid Skoldberg, were presented with the Connacht U14b league Plaque in another piece of history made today, our first ever juvenile title! This has been a fantastic group of players to be involved with and their dedication to the sport and their team cannot be understated, especially as the only league club in Connacht with no pitch time on the right surface. The future is very bright for Renmore Hockey!
